What are the subjects that are most suitable for iPodia courses?
A good iPodia course subject should be interdisciplinary, and students' learning experience and effectiveness can be positively enhanced by the cultural diversity among participating learners. In engineering, for example, this could be a socio-technical subject in which cultural perspectives and social interactions play important roles in students' understanding of the technology. As well, an iPodia course should focus on emerging subjects that are of global importance in order to take advantage of the unique international learning setting provided by iPodia. To promote active learning in a global scale, a good iPodia course should also include team-based exercises and projects, where students from multiple campuses must collaborate with each other as learning cohorts to develop contextual understanding of the subject and mutual understanding of each other.
